This reminds me of one of the funniest Dave Attell episodes ever.

He's hanging out with the worst type of V:TM players. I mean, these people are complete dorks. In addition to their complete dorkiness, they're using HORRIBLY fake English accents.

By "horrible", I mean worse than Keanu Reeves in Bram Stoker's Dracula.

On top of this, their Head Vampire looks like the worst type of rennie. He's probably never seen the outside of his mother's basement, and his vampire "girlfriend" looks like she wants to be Stevie Nicks but is failing miserably.

During their gaming session, Dave asks a quiet boy what his role is. The boy says, "I'm a Ghoul. I just follow them around until I get more points."

Dave says, "Oh. So when do you get to have YOUR accent?"

It ripped off some white wolf shit, but it was still good. One of my favorite vamp action films.

And White Wolf ripped it off from who? Do note that the werewolf verses vampire story line has been around a lot longer than White Wolf. I remember an Abbot and Costello featuring this dynamic.

I thought the abomination idea was original to White Wolf?

Anyone remember a collectable card game called Jyhad?

Yep I collected Jyhad and the other set (after they changed the name because Muslim groups complained). However no one ever played with me. Alas I had hundres of cards and nothing to do with them.

I also own the dvd of Kindred: The Embraced. And watch it at least once a year.

I know, I know...

I happened to benifit from that name change by picking up decks for a fraction of the price. I must have well over a hundred starter decks and boosters. A goup of us used to play at lunch till one tool found a web site and built a practically unbeatable deck. That sort of took the fun out of playing your own created decks.

Thankfully, I never got sucked into Magic the Gathering.

The Jyhad card game became Vampire: the Eternal Struggle, and although it got dropped by Wizards a few years after inception, White Wolf picked it up a few years later. The game is still alive and kicking (and is still the coolest card game ever) and there's a fanclub called the VEKN which can put you in touch with players in your local area. You can get all the details from www.white-wolf.com/vtes/.

All the RPGs by White Wolf set in the World of Darkness are dead, with the last of the 'Time of Judgement' books being released this week. It's the end of the world baby for *everyone* and *everything*. The slate's getting wiped clean for some new games, the first of which will be released later this year. And from what I've seen of them already they're gonna kick some serious ass!

Man I'm such an uber-geek... biggrin

You know, SABOT could kick Sabbats ass...

I'd also like to comment that V:TM can be translated into the Matrix PnP RPG just by the changing of a few key words.
