When the Browns left Cleveland in '95, I decided then and there that pro football was no longer for me. Now I sleep through Sundays and its the best thing that ever happened to me.
I was situated about 2 streets away from Joe Sakic's house when I lived in Québec City. I still have a ton of Nordiques merchadise and remain a diehard supporter. Although the Habs are my team now.
tho Cleveland has an AHL minorleague ice hockey team now called The Barons there WAS an NHL Ice Hockey team called The Barons as well. I fuckin' loved that team! they were sold to (and folded into the roster of) the Colorado Rockies also the team they played thier last game against...in Cleveland in 1979, Which my mom and me atended. i still have a puck, magnet, bag, all kinds of shit...
***As a side note, the Rockies were then sold to someone else (who i forget). then later Colorado bought (or mabey they moved there) The QUEBEC NORDIQUES (i believe) which are now The Avalanch.... and we come full circle.lol.***

Alright now...
I'm not the most loyal sportsfan. Infact, I'm not really too much of a sportsfan at all anymore. But I have had (for many years) a deep love for the now defunct NHL team the QUEBEC NORDIQUES. Mats Sundin, Joe Sakic, Owen NOlan...all on the same line. That team was the shit, when I look back at my youth I see that little red and blue insignia everywhere (I even have an old nords jersey). My question for all of you is this...
is there a now defunct team you used to love? who were they?
crapper! the nords were awesome and nolan used to be my fav player. the year they traded him to the sharks just about broke my heart, knowing that the avs were going to win the cup that year (which they did). heartbreaking, until i met nolan years later and he was a total fucking arsehole!!!
