i went up north for a visit and some chick asked if i wanted pop and chips with my sub. but i thought she said poppin chips, like some fucking awesome new snack sensation. to my dismay she handed me a cup and pointed me towards sun chips and cheetos. northerners are weird and misleading.

pop.

but never just as pop.

you can't say it without it being proceded by "a cana". as in "you want a cana pop?" or "gimme a cana pop" or "if you want a cana pop, they're in the cooler". just saying "pop" is silly... smile

I think it's great that the Coca Cola Corparation has had such a huge influence in this country and the world abroad as to actually make their products name a universal term for all soft drinks/soda pops.

It would be hilarious if they got Xeroxed and lost the trademark.

this has been a very fun activity!! i think soda won in the end, but all of you who bad mouthed Coke for becoming the generic term, read this little History of Faygo. it is interesting, and brings light to the term 'pop'.

now, why did i find this bit of useless information? because of a very cute girl, laura the begal shop girl. she says pop, i say soda, and so the debate was sparked.

i am such a push over for a nice smile.
