Skins - what's the fuss?

If less people watched this crap or just TV in general... we might have a smarter population base! MTV many many years ago actually played MUSIC videos, and didnt have "shows". Now they produce crap that the poor little high school kids can go and immatate because god forbid they actually try being themselves for once... thats just not cool.

not only MTV, all music channels do the same. Even worst here in Quebec our Music channel play all the shitty US reality show with subtitles at the bottom of the screen.

Why does "music tv" have to mean "music video tv?" Shows on MTV purposefully have soundtracks that contain more popular music that features more prominently in the show. There's a reason they show soundtrack popups at the bottom of Jersey Shore, The Real World, and their other shows.

YouTube has killed the music video channel. Why watch tv for an hour to MAYBE see a song I like, when I got dial up youtube and see it on demand any time I want? If MTV actually played music videos more than once or twice a day it would be a failing business.

MTV died long before youtube was even thought up.

What's dead about it? It's an incredibly successful business with multiple incredibly popular shows

You know something? I am a cultural elitist. I refuse to watch pointless and poorly made TV shows. Which means, for the majority of the time, my TV is off.
