You're right. I should have said "Germanic" instead of German.

Not at all.... Asatru is one of the oldest religions in existance. It has had a few revivals though. It actually comes from the North (norse) Countries. Norway, Iceland, Greenland, and countries of that area. It wasn't untill 1015 when "Saint Olaf" forced a Mass Conversion that christianity took hold of Norway.
