I know it makes me seem like a total fangirl, but I loved this series.

The idea of 12-18 year-olds being forced to kill each other in some sort of post-apocalyptic gladiator match is flat-out awesome.

Plus I hear there's going to be movies. So...now we get to see the teens killing each other!

I am excited.

I really liked this series. The 3rd and last book felt a little rushed at the end, but I still enjoyed it.

It is being made into a movie, and I can't wait!!! smile

I am a fan of the series, too! I agree that the last book felt rushed in wrapping things up, but overall an enthralling series. I was glad I didn't start reading them until right before the last book was released...I couldn't put them down.

Looking forward to checking out the movie adaptation(s).

I read the first two books in a couple days and then had to wait for the third to be finished. I still haven't read the last one because I need to reread the others so it still makes sense. tongue But I really loved them. Right now I'm reading the Dark Tower series by Stephen King and it's pretty great so far.

My ex-girlfriend was a huge fan. Not sure if its my type of thing, but its really good to see that teen-lit has gotten intelligent again over the past decade or so!

So, I thought I would read a few pages of The Hunger Games before going to sleep. WRONG. Read the whole book. Strangely hungry at the end too.

Life and death from page one. Had to keep reading. It totally sucked me in.

Me too. I read the entire series in a week. Pretty amazing for young adult fiction to hold my attention span like that.

I bought the first book at the suggestion of a coworker, and after i began reading it, I could not put it down! This series was very addicting. From an earlier post, yes the third book seems like it was rushed a bit, but overall, the storyline and characters were great. I anticipated the release of each book after the first one, and as soon as I found out Mockingjay was released, I went out on a hunt to find it. Great books!

I thought the 3rd one was a lot weaker than the first 2.

I loved how the first novel started, but by the time I was halfway through, disillusionment set in.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
I was all,

Wait, this is just a Harlequin Romance Novel.

...except...

Instead of the theme being Pirates, or English Country Lords, or whatever, it's Survivor.

...and...

Wait, they're not even going to get it on, are they?

...and sure enough...

Yep. They never got it on, and now this is obviously leading into a sequel and I feel gypped.

Also, you can predict half the novel by assuming that whenever Cat thinks anything negative, she's being too humble.

I'm told the next novel is even worse, but sets up a great finale. Maybe I'll get around to reading it eventually.
