Austin/San Antonio/Central TX are dryer than the coast this time of year and for the next few months but the cold fronts can still bring some gray rainy days. Austin is fun, lots of bars and entertainment Thurs-Sun. You will need to find an Austin SG member and see about the other stuff. I am usually there for an overnight and if we have time will go out. Never spent any time there trying to find other stuff to do. Hill country is just west of Austin, lots of ranches a few state parks if you like hiking or just a slow ride in the country. SA has the river walk for bars and entertainment. About 90 mins between the two. San Marcos is a college town between them and Austin has UT.

Being a big roller derby nut, I'd have to say wait 'til at least late Feb so you can see a bout of The Texas Rollergirls. wink They rock.
