Oklahoma has a lot of things going for it as a state; all of which elude me at the moment. But, unbeknownst to a lot people in an online community like SG is the fact that it is illegal to get a tattoo in the state. Some lawmakers say tattoos will make people become prostitutes, become wayward and constant, and that God says you shouldn't do it. Legislation is slowly making its way through the state legislature to legalize it, but its future is unsure.
In addition, South Carolina can also go fuck themselves. That is, until fall when they will also legalize it.
I can see how getting a tattoo would make you want to take off all your clothes, but wayward, inconstant, and whorish? That would be like an episode of The Twilight Zone.

I had real problems after I got my tattoo. God came down and told me I was a fuckwad, and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't stop being a prostitute. Me love you long time. 5 dollar sucky sucky. See, there I go again. Damn you, evil tattoo!!

i left oklahoma nearly 20 years ago and have been back twice. once for my grandfather's funeral and once for the dedication of a college art wing to his service. i hope i don't ever have to return.

I live in Oklahoma too! I get my tattoos here, and Keith is right things are cheap.

my brother lives in the OKC and he just gets his ink done from a friend w/ a home studio...plus driving to texas isn't that bad...but yes, the law is ridiculous...just one of the old bible belt laws that just happens to still exist...


ps... the rent there is super cheap!...my bro is in the navy and his rent allowance pays for rent+food+extra entertainment...
