Grand Theft Auto 3 was set in a fictional "New York" and paid a lot of homage to mafia movies and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City was set in a fictinal Miami Beach circa 1980s a la Miami Vice.

The question: Where would you set the next GTA game and what kind of jokes, movie references, characters and landmarks would you put into it?

Would you nominate your home town for a bit of pretend mayhem?

Williamsburg Brooklyn, run down hipsters left and right, hang out at friends art openings and then kill them all. Change outfits at all the different thrift stores.

The soundtrack wouldn't go over too big either-I'd like it, though!

GTA3 was in a New York type city?

I know Portland isn't an island for real, but in the game it always calls the first island Portland... that's what I always figured they were copying. Tho New York makes sense because of the islands and neighborhoods n'stuff... *shrug* It's fun regardless so I don't care.

It should be in Rutledge, Pa. Its 20 minutes outside Philly, its approximatly 5 streets long by 5 streets wide. Sure the stages would be small, but Rutledge deserves it, and as Lord Byron of Wallingford the great conqueror of Rutledge, i will allow Rock Star game to copy my newly aquired province. ARRR!!!

They could set it in my hometown of Forest City, Iowa.

Your hideout would be an abandoned farm house where you make meth and you could run over people outside Bert's Burgerama with a tractor!

That sounds sweet-my head swims with possible Anne Rice references!
