Oh yea, and when did Saturday morning tv start to suck? I remember always having cartoons on. Now if a kid turns on the tv on a Saturday morning, they'll have a choice between 2 cartoons and 57 infomercials. WTF?

You noticed all the ones from the 80s are back? I mean damn. Well except Captain Planet.. I laugh my ass off everytime I see that with friends now. Heart is the most useless mofo in the world.

Cartoon Network is the only station that seems to put out any cartoons that are of any actual QUALITY now, IMO, though they run all the ones from other networks so yech. I've mostly seen a couple before Adult Swim (which kicks total ass), like Samauri Jack - that's the kinda thing that's cool.

But yeah, mainstream cartoons blow now.

Oh and has anyone noticed holiday specials suck ass now too? Remember the days of like, Rudolph and Frosty movies? Now kids have like, *0* holiday movies. WTFH. At least some movie networks run Friday the 13th on Halloween, though always the old really crappy ones where they still thought Jason was a serious scarry still-human guy. tongue

Obviously in the 70's they didn't think kid's would wake up At the crack'o dawn for Interplanet Janet or Davey And Goliath.

Well, you couldn't have it getting confused with Filmation's Ghostbusters. Ray and Egon never had a flying car or a talking gorilla.

The only Cartoons worth watching in my opinion are Aqua Teen HF, The Brak Show, SeaLab, Teen Titans, Justice League and Samurai Jack. The saturday morning stuff is just puke Some of the ones on MTV are occasionally cool, and spongebob always cracks me up with his naivety and squidwards hopeless arrogance.
I don't count anime as "cartoons" I love stuff like Cowboy Bebop.

For some reason, I remember the very short-lived shows "Gilligan's Planet" and "Pandamonium" really, really well.

No, that makes it a list of weekend morning cartoons. As the commercials say, check your local listings.

I didn't immediately discount the list because it didn't have Robotech on it, because duh, Robotech was on on weekday afternoons in the summer.

Yep weekdays were the best
Robotech, Starblazers, Force 5

Though I can't for the life of me remember when the Hanna Barbara stuff was on like the Herculoids.

Oh and I really miss Underdog and Hong Kong Phooie

i remember all the good cartoons came on at like 7 in the morning, and i never got to watch them except when i'd stay at my grandma's and sleep on the couch, and all the old people would wake up at 6 in the morning and make coffee. i remember that spider man came on at like 7.30 with the incredible hulk for a while.
and.......smurfs at 10. snorks at 9.30. and for a while, i think the WWF cartoon with junkyard dog and hulk hogan came on at 11. 12 was bugs bunny hour, and then wide world of sports. if figure skating was on, there was always some shitty clint eastwood cowboy movie my dad would watch while he drifted in and out of sleep on the couch. this would force us to go outside and find bugs to fuck with in the yard. or dig a big hole. holes were also cool.

And if there's anything more sad than spending your whole Saturday morning watching cartoons, it's getting up extra early to catch the teaser programs where they feature all the new cartoons for the upcoming season. I remember thinking Dark Water had so much potential.
