The new Jackass feature film is spectacularly shitty - in an awesomely gross kind of way. And because it's shot in 3D, the excrement literally comes flying right at you, giving the MTV-rooted franchise the opportunity to connect with its audience in a whole new, and yet familiarly meaningless way.
I don't mean that disrespectfully - it's just that it's important not to overthink things when it comes to Jackass's intentionally lowbrow brand of entertainment. Creators Johnny Knoxville, Spike Jonze...
could have pushed harder with questions. both these guys come off in media as too bright to be actors and maybe would have gone off with really interesting stuff. funny as hell these movies have had special showings at MOMA--certainly some interesting fucking irony that! seems more could have been plumbed is all. overall, not bad to fair.
