We Americans are kind of soft. When we sayMachete it kind of sounds like "ma-shed-ee." When Machete himself says it, it sounds as sharp as the blade itself: "Ma-chay-tay." Danny Trejo really emphasizes the correct Mexican pronunciation of his latest character.
If there were Suicide Men, Danny Trejo might be their leader. Although, he wouldn't have to worry about committing social suicide, because nobody's going to mess with him. His rugged face, chest of tattoos, handlebar moustache and long man...
Danny Trejo is one of my favorite actors. Not your conventional Hollywood guy. I'm really looking forward to the movie. For folks interested, check out the documentary that was made about Danny Trejo. Its called "Champion: The Danny Trejo Story". It's great. it tells his story, makes him human, unscary, loveable. He is an asset to the Chicano/Latino community in more ways than one. Thanks for posting this, Next time, let ME do the interview.
Trejo's kind of an all around bad ass for the cinema and video games (GTA), but he's really a great guy. He's living the American dream, coming up from a bad neighborhood, getting involved with drugs and crime, serving time and then finding redemption in boxing and movies all the while keeping himself clean. How great that he's finally the lead role in his own movie! He's a great, rugged character actor kind of like the guy who played the Mogua in Last of The Mohicans (you'll know what I mean when you see his face).
One of the best movies Rodriguez have made if not the best!!!! Danny Trejo is great in it...hope it will give him more roles...he deserves it!!! GO SEE IT!!!
Bref c malade!!! Et vraiment tordant!!! A ne pas manquer!!!
