Beauty and perfection has never played a tag-team trick as cruel as this.
I’m known for saying ‘Pain is beauty’ as I literally run around Los Angeles in notsogentle heels. And I curse the stars that I wasn’t born with heels on like my mother. And who didn’t grow up with the notion of Cinderella and the perfect pair of heels?
Now because I’m Asian and a woman, it basically guarantees that I should have a weird fascination with feet.
Fact: In my youth, I read in an issue of Jane (do you miss the magazine as much as I do?) or maybe it was Glamour that depicted accounts of Asian women who were inserting steel rods in their ankles so they could be two inches taller.
Second Fact: In an episode of Full House, Michelle Tanner was so self-conscious by the size of her feet and under coaxing from the whackadoo Kimmy Gibbler, she shrink-wrapped her feet and stuck it in a bowl full of ice water. Chinese foot binding anyone?
What does all these foot procedures include? Narrowing your feet. Shortening your toes. How about stealing butt fat and sticking them in your feet for extra cushioning so I really can go the distance in a pair of sky high, ankle-snapping heels. And if I’m really self-conscious about some sweaty piggies, that’s nothing a little shot of Botox can’t help.
Because I have really thought about it, why not sew a bit of your toes together so you don’t catch a glimpse of toe cleavage?
While I talk myself out of the thought of having butt fat in my feet, would any of you gals seriously consider this procedure that apparently women in LA are nuts over?
I don't see anything wrong with the Botox if you have serious sweat and foot odor problems. The rest of it seems a bit extreme. I'm all for body modification, but it seems like surgically messing with your feet could potentially affect your joints and ability to walk and exercise.
there was a point where asian men were (i believe this was the procedure) having their femur/fibula/tibias sawn apart and reset. all so that when they healed they would gain a scant bit of height.
My grandma wanted to have a procedure done to reduce sensation in her feet, because she wanted to wear heels every day, but stupid pain was getting in the way of her sexy shoes.
That's disgusting. I remember reading that same article about asian women having those rods implanted into their legs to get a few inches taller. Sickening... Really. I remember the pictures in that article, and how they talked about the horrific pain of these procedures, having your legs sawed apart at the bone in various different spots, so that they could create a gap to fill with metal rods and pins. That article seriously traumatized me; I'll never forget it. This "Cinderella Procedure", is just as stomach churning. When will this madness stop? Why can't anyone be happy with who they are, and the body they were born with? I mean, I understand the pressures of looking "perfect", I really do. I've fought my own demons, coming into my life in the form of Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia, and so on. But somethings gotta give. I mean honestly, it's feet now? Feet?! Most people hate their feet! They look weird. So what? At least we have them, and the ability to walk! Whatever... Let people be idiots. Go get your feet shaved down, your legs snapped and extended, your tits, lips, and ass injected, tummy flattened, face lifted, fine lines and wrinkles botoxed away, body hair laser removed, skin tanned to a crisp, teeth bleached electric white, nails covered with tacky fake tips, contacts put in to change your eye colour, eyelids topped off with false lashes, make-up caked all over your face, gloss globbed all over your nasty fish lips, an added push-up bra making those silicone titties pop, and ooohhhh, what a sight you'll be. Then you can blend right in with the rest of this nauseatingly shallow, empty, existence of ours. This is nothing but body mutilation in it's rawest form, and it kills me to know that it's all legal, and that it's now so common that girls are getting boob jobs as sweet 16 gifts, before they're even done developing, from their jackass parents, and it's "okay" that they're underage, because their parents are moronic enough to sign a piece of paper saying it's alright. Ugh... Excuse me while I go vomit.
The Crazy Things Women Do in the Name of Beauty: The Cinderella Procedure:
Tattoos, piercings, stretches, scarification...
I love "Dolled up" comments "Why can't anyone be happy with who they are, and the body they were born with?"
Suicidegirls concept is not all about the inverse?
I think there is a correlation to do between these "society acceptable" piercings, stretches and others and these extreme body modifications you just talked about.
I like my feet, they are huge, and my second toe is longer than my big toe, and my baby toe looks like it trying to crawl under my foot to hide from the world.
But I loves them. I have been dancing ballet for fifteen years, my feet are blistered, corned, torn up, but they carry me. Regardless of what beauty standards the world may have my feet are my feet, and they deserve neon green polish, toe rings, and cowgirl boots.
I hate my feet. They're messed up looking. Then again, I'm a guy, they "should" look like Frankensteins monster, hahaha. But feet are feet, be happy with what you have because they get you where you need to go. Surgery may change that. Is it worth the risk??
And as for the height increases, I like short girls!!!

What do you think?
agreed. "alternative lifestyle/modern primitive" people drilling screws into their skulls, splitting their tongues, gauging random body parts to ridiculous sizes and whatnot. i've always thought that everything is relative and how sickened someone is by anything just depends on what they've been exposed to/have been taught is acceptable by society. how many years ago was it that people were horrified by gauges? even tattoos, in the west? the first few people are always considered a bit wacky.
but damn if this isn't a little too wacky, for me.
I still get weird looks and rude comments about my streched ears. I have boys ask me all the time, " Why would you get so many piercings and tattoos?? You'd look much better without them." It gets old..
Er, you all know this surgery is marketed to correct bunions, right? An actual, legitimate foot problem that causes pain and affects many women (mostly older than this site's target market) ?
Did anyone actually go to the website in question and read it?
There are practical and aesthetic considerations to it. You could say the same about other types of reductive surgery (like breast reductions), corrective measures (like scoliosis treatment or braces), or both (various nose jobs for reduction, reshaping and/or correcting deviated septums)
As operations go, the procedure itself as shown is neither particularly dramatic nor all that complicated.
Bunion surgery has been around long before this, just without the cute name and with a much longer healing time.

no, no i did not. whenever there is a long/detailed enough intro, in the post, i tend to follow it. and this one leads in on it being done on younger women, as a fashion trend. i believe my laziness to be justified.
besides, i entered to mention just how goofy men are, too.
mattie6137 you would look pretty cute without all the work. that's not saying you don't with it all, of course.
