In Oklahoma we've had record rain for the summer time, even flash flooding, which has made the summer even more unbearable than it already is here. The high temperature yesterday was 97 F and the humidity peaked, literally, at 88% (is that even air at that point?). The wind was only from 0 to 6mph. This made the "heat index" 107 F. It's quite literally unbearable for more than a few moments. You can't breathe, and with the humidity, your sweat never evaporates. If you're outside for more than a minute your clothes will be as damp as if they just got out of the spin cycle of a washing machine.
Thank the flying spaghetti monster for air conditioning!
We're getting ridiculous amounts of rain here in Tennessee as well. It's obnoxious because it's cloudy all day, yet the temperature is still 90+. If the weather's gonna be hot, it should at least have the decency to be sunny!
When I moved to the mountains, I thought it would be cooler weather. But when I go to work at 5:45am and it is already 78 degrees and 80% humidity, I am not down with that.
Yep it sucks to have to go to the beach everyday and see girls walking around in bikini's then get the shivers after swimming.
But I've been not riding my bike to work because if I did I'd need another shower, and complete change of clothes as well as be dehydrated, the wind feels like someone blowing a hair dryer in my face.
Lately I've had the privilege of working in 100+ degree heat while wearing fire-resistant long-sleeves, FR pants, 8" boots, a hardhat, and glasses.
The people in our central office lost air-conditioning, and got to go home so they wouldn't have to sit around wearing office-casual in 90 degree heat.
Its been around 85-90 degrees here for the past 3-4days straight and i am loving it! I love all the sunshine. Yesterday i played disc golf in about 95 degree weather, that was a bit intense haha

Double-standards much?

I had a job a few years ago steam cleaning engine parts, in the summer.
It was 34 degrees C (which google tells me is about 93 degrees farenheit) on the surface in central london yesterday, and the tube was a few degrees hotter. I got stuck on the underground as a couple of lines broke down for a half hour. By the time I got home in the evening it was like I was wearing a second skin of sweat and city-pollution-grime.
I'm in Louisville KY, and I feel like our weather over the past year went from 'power-line killing frost' to 'rainy-tornado spring' to 'swealtering, over-killing heat'. There hasn't even been a stretch of nice days to offset all of the crappy weather this year around.
