Is there any site that I can go to that gives specific details about the rights of tenants when renting or things landlords are responsible for? Or does anyone here know about these things who would maybe be able to answer some questions for me? I'm having some issues with my landlord and I'd love to be able to know my shit when I finally get to confront her about everything. There's a few things I know for sure that she's done/doing that are against various ordinances and landlord laws, and we've been back and forth for quite some time now about a lot of them.

Any help is appreciated.

The laws are different in every city. There is usually a tennants association that offers manuals and sometimes even free legal advice (especially if you're in a University town).

Check with city hall.

The problem with that is that it's different with each state. The Cornell University Law School has an excellent overview of landlord-tenant law, including a link to state property law statutes.

However, it can be kinda difficult reading at times. It's made for lawyers and law students, after all...

You should probably look over your lease. Everything you're entitled to should be in it.

Start with your lease. It will detail both the landlord and tenant's duties and responsiblities. Next, go to Findlaw, and go to the real estate section. It should give you links to the resources available online concerning your jurisdiction. Third, contact the bar association of the state where you live. They may have attorneys that can give you advice for free or represent you pro bono. I hope this helps.
