What I hated about Hulu's ads was that they were all the same ad. I can tolerate commercials when they're not five of the EXACT SAME COMMERCIAL in a row during one program. I hope they've fixed that.
Personally I can't be bothered to watch ad-supported rolling content when I have a giant and growing queue of Netflix Watch Instantly ad-free high-res streaming video supplemented by Netflixed DVDs, but then I don't usually care about watching shows the very moment they come out, which I know many people do.

My point is that it's growing, and soon you'll be watching just as many commercials as regular tv and you'll wake up one day and it'll be 10 years ago.. you know, the, frog in boiling water scenario..
And if they're charging a massive monthly subscription fee, along with showing a dozen ads per episode, you'll have something to bitch about. Until then, I'm going to enjoy the service rather than bitching endlessly about how bad it's going to get in the future.
Because, you know, by then, I'll probably be using some other, less annoying and costly technology. Of course, by then, I imagine the field of advertising will have gotten smart enough to actually show me ads that interest me, and I won't care so much that the free entertainment I'm getting is supported by ads.
I mean hell, if video advertising consisted of stuff so personalized that when I watched Hulu I saw an ad for the latest Focus Features film, a promo for my local farmer's market, a clip from a video from some cool new band I like, and a spot for a community project in my neighborhood Good Magazine was sponsoring, I probably wouldn't give two shits if they interrupted my free video watching occasionally.
