In January it started raining in my living (again) and my slumlord is still "on my way over right away."
Oh, man! You just dredged up a memory:
Three years ago, I was coming home from a date, we went to my place; I open the front door and am greeted by what sounded like a rain forest. Like an idiot, I turned on some overhead lights; the ones that didn't immediately explode were shining this dim, dirty light, because all my fixtures were full of water.
A pipe upstairs broke, water had been streaming through the ceiling in almost every room for god knows how long. Needless to say, I told the girl "Sorry, but I'll have to call you," basically closed the door in her face, and flipped out. Everything was soaking wet. I called the landlord more than a dozen times, every time being told "Someone's on the way." I was up all night covering things with garbage bags, and putting out every pot and bucket I owned. They didn't show up to shut off the water until 12 hours after my first emergency call.
On the plus side, they never gave me crap about security-deposits or payments.
