I have a PS2.
It has options for changing the region.
Countries listed are...
England, Austria, Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Norway, Finland, and Belgium... some of those are in Europe aren't they?

Almost any DVD player will play any regional code if you unlock the software protection. Just Google 'DVD hacks' to find the code for your player.

Bah! I'm just going to buy the non-recalled UK edition.

With MORE features

I knew I bought that region free DVD player for a reason.

I was so sad when I couldn't find it anywhere...I didn't know what to do!

This is the best bet. Get an all region dvd player. It aleiviates all the troubles that seem to pop up in America about cool movies. Get them somewhere else!

The going price for the "recalled" DVD on Ebay right now seems to be between $40 and $50.

Anyone finding it anywhere cheaper?

$40-$50 isn't too bad considering that Blockbuster was selling it at regular price for $29.99 (the ones that sold it anyway).

I ordered it off Amazon.ca for $20.29CDN, which, according to my handy-dandy little converter here, is $15.27 US right now. Amazon.ca is still saying it will be released April 4, 2004, so I don't know if that means it'll still get released in Canada or not. It's also possible that if it's being held for legal reasons, Amazon.ca (or other international merchants) will be barred from selling it to customers in the United States. But I figure if that happens, I'm not losing anything.
