I was talking to this guy at work about one of my best friends, who I've known since 1976... which in a couple years means I've known him 30 years.

People have already said it and it is kind of cliche, but old really is a state of mind.

I feel mentally the same as I did when I was 23... aside from the ego that comes from getting more of whatever a 23 year old has had. More jobs, listened to more music, seen more movies, more sex, more foods, more events, more everything.

But I don't walk around wondering if I'm out of date or being worried about whether 19 year old college girls will still have sex with me.

This site does make things seem more transitory because subjects come and go so fast. But it's like money doesn't change people, it changes the people around you? Age is the same thing. Age hasn't made me old; I'm made old when some 23 year old starts treating me old.

That and perspective, is I think the only other things that defines mental age.

I can't get as excited about certain subjects (especially political), because I've seen a lot of it before. Think I haven't seen poverty, crime, human rights violations, corrupt politicians, or naked pop stars? I have, and a couple times over now.

There is no new news, it's just repackaged every few years, like those dumb ass bell bottoms and bushy sideburns that are all the rage. Again. And, PS, if I have to see another repackaged 70s TV show movie again puke .

Will all of you please do me a favor and not go see Starsky and Hutch (no matter how much you love whichever Wilson that is), so Hollywood will STOP THE MADNESS!

Physically, I think I would like to have my 23 year old body again (not that this one is so bad)... but never if I had to have the same mind or watch the same shit over and over again.

I am scared of 30...I mean being single in your 20's you are a swinging bachelor you can go up to a girl 22-23 and still talk to them without being creepy but the second you hit 30...you go from swinging bachelor to dirty old man over night

Is it wrong that I have every intention of attending a high school prom with some hot senior when I'm 30?

I dunno.

It's like no one wants to discuss the fall of Rome's effect of the liguistical developement throughout midevil europe with me anymore.

I think trends are moving a bit faster these days.

But seriously, kids these days think that 'Enterprise' or MAYBE 'Voyager' is Star Trek.

How fuct is that?????

Sleep. bok soup in the morning. Drink plenty of water. Try to not feel like too much of an ass when you sober up.

okay......i will admit to doing something that i never thought i would admit to, and that i never thought i would do in the first place.

the age on my profile is off by 7 years......yep, i am 35, not 28.

there are several reasons why i did this.......
first of all, i think age is one of the things people look at first when they meet you (before they actually KNOW you)......and with an online thing....stats are what you go by first.

maybe i think this way becuz i am guilty of it myself. i may look at someone's profile who is 19....and think.....ummm.........no, what in the hell would we have in common. thusly...someone who is 23 may think the same of a 35 year old.
true, these things aren't necessarily true, but can be.

also......being very involved in the local band scene.....many band members shave numbers off their age.....i guess cuz if you have 35 year old musicians out their the younger set are less interested...i guesss, i dunno.

and lastly....i was married for seven years....it stalled my youth...i decided to trash those years, and thus i have become 28.

btw, when i get to know someone, even through here, i tell them my real age.
also, i only have done this on this site and myspace.com....not in real life.
again, you don't have a lot to go on in this community when you first "meet" someone.

god, i am a sad little person whatever
