Fav kind of Sushi?

I have a whole sushi hierachy. First of all, I don't care for crap like veggie rolls or cooked sushi (except for eel). With that said, I could probably eat sushi every day and never tire of it. Here's my sushi hierarchy:

Maki Rolls (I always start off eating the rolls):
1. Spicy Tuna
2. Tuna
3. Eel & Cucumber
4. Rainbow
5. Yellowtail & scallion

Nigiri Sushi (and I always eat these pieces in opposite order, saving my favorites for last):
1. Eel
2. Tuna
3. Yellowtail
4. Shiromi
5. Salmon

It is the weird stuff that I seem to love the most -- not for shock value but b/c it doesn't taste like anything else I've had but it is sooooo yum.

Uni - my favorite. nothing like something cold, wet and squishy in your mouth that tastes like the under side of a wharf. hmmm. but's it's so good. i'd call this one like tasting 'the essence of the sea'.

Unagi - hmmmm, hand rolls from heaven.

Saba - mackrel, except i ask the chef to add a bit of Shiso leaf. the mixture of the salty fish with the minty tasting leaf, really makes my taste buds do back flips. try it some time, you won't be sorry

i, too, prefer sashimi, most of the time, i'm not a big white rice eater.

For those in LA, who want something a little different from your average Sushi experience, try 'Ita Cho' on Beverly near La Brea. it's amazing. the best sashimi mixed. hibachi style vegetables. amazing little dishes. everything is great.

i like 'em hand rolls, especially the hokkigai variety. so tastey.... also good is tempura tuna roll, but it still ends up being raw in the middle.

oh god this is making me hungry!. damn you all for making me want sushi when every place near me is closed!!!

but yeah eel would be one of my favs, or a spider roll... mmmmm soft shell crab

It's almost impossible to find, but abalone is by far the most delicious thing I have ever had in a sushi restaurant. I tried it when I was about 10 years old and have been on the watch for it ever since.

There is only one sushi restaurant that I know of, and it is an hour away from where I live. It's where my boyfriend and I go when we want a serious date night.

I've only ever had the rolls, and I'm very lame and can't remember most of the names of what I've tried, but I have gotten to the point where I've tried about half of what they offer.

And, like just about everyone else, I'm now hungry for sushi! Curses!!!
