That is quite possibly the lamest thing I've ever seen.

They're like the assholes that show up someplace fun just to say how much it sucks and ruin people's enjoyment. You're incapable of understanding the humor, it's not your thing? Fine. Move on. Don't bother making a grating explanation of every single comic that shows that the tongue-in-cheek humor is just going over your head.
At least when people like Nostalgia Critic, Angry Video Game Nerd, or their ilk ream bad comics/movies/video games, they do it with a genuine love of the genre behind it and a good sense of humor.
I have to respond with the almost cliche "/facepalm."
I think it's hilarious to do a theoretical dissection of a web comic. It's like Marmaduke Explained.
But Marmaduke explained is funny in its own right, and it is meant to be funny. An intellectual/technical breakdown of something as base and simplistic as Marmaduke is funny due to it's contrast. XKCD explained just comes off as a daily assassination attempt. It's trying to out intellectualize something that is already smart. And that just comes off as smug and obnoxious. If they wanted to be funny they'd create a "Larry the Cable Guy" or Jeff Foxworthy explain xkcd, because the contrast would be a riot.
I think I need to modify my earlier statement: Toby, Dave and Ian is probably the lamest thing I've ever seen that someone actually seemed to have invested a minimum of thought in.
