I've worn glasses since 1st grade (that's 44 years ago). I'm very nearsighted.

I just got a new bifocal prescription today. Everything is wandering in and out of focus.surreal

I got glasses in the 5th (4th?) grade because I was having trouble seeing the blackboard. Nowadays I prefer contacts.

I still remember the difference the day I put them on, it was akin to looking through binoculars: "Holy frijoles, the trees actually have leaves on them!" Before they'd just been irregular green blobs, but I didn't know they were supposed to look different.

Anyone else remember the first thing they noticed different when they got glasses?
