"We're told NBC honchos still have to sit down with Jay's rep and put the finishing touches on a new deal, but NBC has signed off on the plan if Conan O'Brien leaves ... and Conan has made it clear that he's leaving the network, and not on good terms."
I am loving him this week though (and every week), this week all his jokes have been NBC based and they are great! He always makes me laugh. I am really hoping he goes to another network and just fucking rocks it. I'll miss him.
Looks like he'll be gone by the end of next week or the one after.
He's been the old Conan (to be honest, his first few months haven't been that great) and just killing it, and NBC doesn't want him to build momentum going into a new contract on FOX (which probably won't happen until the fall anyway).

I have to agree. That said, I think it's mainly NBC's fault. They made him lose some good bits when he moved to the earlier time slot. Also, what I've noticed about the Tonight Show as opposed to Late Night, is that there's less of Conan's bits and material, and more of the show is devoted to the guests.
Personally, I could give fuck all about 99% of the celebrity interviews or the musical guests. Anymore I usually turn it off when the first guest comes out.
If NBC would let Conan be Conan, then it would be a much better show.
Leno has his own show tho. I thought Conan was doing well on The Tonight Show? I don't know what the big deal is. Conan's show always was and is funnier than Leno.
