it's a decent film (in my opinion) that is revered by too many (in my opinion)....... i agree...... (with my own opinion)...... for christ's sake it's a movie...... people will like it or they won't...... or they might just not give a shit.....

Somebody forgot their XaneX today.

One thing I found interesting is you only know WTF is going on in the movie if you get the special edition DVD and booklets and read it all and listen to the commentary and interviews and...

...the simple fact is, while I thought some elements of the movie were well done (enough to say it was a good movie) the fact that vital information was left out - not for style reasons but because the director was new (he even says this many times!!) make it fall into a wierd category - namey Lynchists who love the fact the movie is open to debate, when in reality, it's all a pretty linear, neat Sci-Fi story when you have all the extra material.

I can't say it's the best movie out there largely because it admits to leaving out tons of vital plot points by mistake! But all in all the fact it is loaded with atmosphere and DOES in fact have an explenation for everything (despite the fact it has major WTFness value if you watch it without the additional stuff) gives it a few points than the Lynch theory of forcing it not to make sense so noone can ever have an answer.

I got the director's autograph. Nyah nyah nuh nyah nyah.

He's a really mellow guy from Virginia who went to USC on an art scholarship and got the screenplay read because he had friends in the right places, and because absolutely no one had read anything like it.

'donnie darko' was, and is, fucking lousy. im not prepared to back up my point of view with a cogent argument, but its important to me that you all know how i feel about this
