Maybe they tried to cut down on the number of tickets, try to cut down on overcrowding . . . or they realized that they can make more money by selling the more expensive daily tickets.
I used to have a job working for a woman that sold stuff at cons. I always had free passes. I never realized people paid so much for tickets! I kinda wish I still worked for her, I could sell that shit like crazy huh?

They've been sold out for over a month.
Christ...why?
Because people who got burned by the early sellout date last year got an even bigger jump on the gun this year (I fall into this group)? Twilight Fan Derangement Syndrome (I pointedly do not fall into this group)? I know they reduced the number of preview night passes available this year; I suppose it's possible they reduced the number of four day passes, period.
For those willing to take their chances, they sold returned passes for the first time via eBay this year, and it sounds like they'll do something similar for next year. For those not willing to take their chances, one day passes go on sale December 15.
1 day passes for each day go on sale Dec 15. I have my 4 day pass already, but I have to get a 1 day pass for each day for my friend who is going with me. He is in Cambodia right now for a month so I have to get them..bleh.

I considered the Twilight Factor as well. If that's the case, I don't think I want to go to a con overrun by Twilight fans, nor do I want to pay a huge eBay markup.

Sigh...
Unless you want to go to something in Hall H the day of the Twilight panel, my experience has been that Twilight fans actually aren't a big deal. And (although I can't say this for certain, since I didn't participate) I don't think there's a markup on the eBay-ed passes. They put them up as Buy It Now items; eBay was just the most convenient marketplace for them.
