So, my girlfriend is into this animal photographer named Harry Whittier Frees, basically because she loves photography of animals dressed up in human clothes. Apparently, Frees was active in the early 20th century and lots of his photos turn up on postcards (she collects these). They look like this:

So, looking for information about Frees, she stumbles on this website. It has Frees photos...and a whole lot more.

Dressed Cats

Anyhow, I know how people here love dressed up kittens...and puppies...and bunnies. Go here and see things like this:

Well, I don't know about the "Nazi" part...but you're right, it's evil. I heard that this band does slayer covers:

Serious? They look like they're begging on the inside for someone to put a bullet in their furry little heads and end the misery and humiliation. "Please kill me, please?"

Miserable? I don't know if you're right about that...this one looks like he's out for some outlaw blood...

And THIS one looks like he's angry we've disturbed him...with his fancy radio and headphones...

These are really starting to creep me out, man.

The little dog with the headphones looks like he's trying to contact the dead.

As a child I had a book with pictures of dressed up kittens. I loved that book.

Is anyone else confused by the text on this card? And I'm not even referring to the misspelled english, but the text next to the picture of the hot dog. I can't be sure, but I think it's trying to tell us that the hot dog is made of cats.

Mother of fucking pearl! What kind of sicko whackjob was this Frees guy, anyway?
What the fizzuck is he doing to that poor little bunny? Is that what happens to an animal that doesn't want to participate in his depraved dress up fantasies?

Oh, i feel dirty. I think i'm gonna go scrub off with a Brilo pad. Errgghh.

I have absolutely no fucking idea. This is my girlfriend's collection and I am the principal beneficiary of her collecting ways. To me, they're just really, really fucking funny. And OLD-FASHIONED. I scanned a couple of her own things, so I'll post them just for shits and giggles.

For example, what the fuck is this:

Something in pants? What does this mean?

This one must date to the early days of film:

In fact, the cat they're watching appears on another Frees post card, so it's a tie in.

And this one...this one's my favorite. It has no writing on it, but I refer to the dog pictured as "The Baron."

My girlfriend just told me that "Pants" and "The Baron" (in the previous post) are not pictures taken by Frees. She also said that there were a bunch of people taking this kind of picture (i.e. animals dressed as humans) in the early 1900s, in case you're keeping score.
