while we're randomly appreciating people in Bruce Lee's Appreciation Thread...

i'd like to mention that Takeshi Kitano is the baddest mother whose name isn't Bruce Lee

I just wish people would accept the fact that he died because he was ripped to the teats on opium. He was a movie star, after all.

has anyone seen the re-cut version of game of death, with previously lost footage that follows bruce's notes for how he wanted it made? bravo plays it occasionally, but i think it's out on dvd now too, on a documentary disk.

i own black belt jones, and jim kelly owns you.

Havn't seen the re-cut of Game of Death, but Black Belt Jones was terrible...Kelly was about the only plus in a movie brimming with blaxploitation cliches and a score that sounded like a bunch of studio musicians trying to be "hip"...plus the ethnic stereotypes on Italian Americans was cringe worthy...let me put it this way: Any movie Cheech and Chong saw a preview for in Reefer Madness is bound to be sucky... none the less, I will agree with that Jim Kelly is still the M-A-N!

i think the reason it's so good is because it's so damn bad. my favorite part is the scene where he flicks the lights on and off to suprise the incoming bad guys... what kinda movie has fight scenes set in the dark where you can't see anything?

the reason it's filled with blaxploitation cliches, and cheesy music? uh... 'cause it's blackploitation! it's no shaw brothers vehicle, for sure, but i love it anyway.
