Every year my family and I get together all week long and have a pumpkin carving marathon. Last year we completed an incredible 53 gourds. This year, due to my sister in law being 8.9 months pregnant, we completed a nice round 38.

Actually, no. The most "specialized" tool I use for detail is an exact-o knife. The rest is done with the traditional cheap tools that come packaged with the designs. And yes, we use do patterns for 98% of our pumpkins, but I will say that the carousel this year was drawn by hand.
