Pen Pal Group Vouch Thread

This group sounds like a blast to be in. I'd be willing to a lot of things to prove myself.

this is brilliant! i recently mentioned on my facebook profile that i would love to be part of a pen pal group, to which most people thought i was joking, and the few positive responses i received were from people that i see almost every day already. i had no idea that something like this already existed on SG!

I just moved to CA from PA in December, I only have a few friends here and I feel really disconnected with people. I'd love to join and make friends with people all over.

I don't have too many friends here, neither blog entry (I don't like writing them really) but I love sending and receiving post cards/letters so much! I used to be a penpal when I was little, no I use every excuse to send postcards to my friends and family. I don't get a lot though, everyone is emailing or facebooking, damn it! I travel quite a lot so I can send you postcards from various places It's time to resurect the tradition!

I was just wondering, if I have an active blog but all the posts are set to "Friends only" will that affect my eligibility?

I don't know about everyone else, but I personally love getting mail.

It makes it much better if it's a personalized mail to you. In a world full of technology, I miss the written letters.

Dear Invisible Pen Pal Jury,

My application is pending, but I don't really know anyone in the group. I write alot of letters and send out drawings, etc. already, but many of my friends don't really take the idea seriously. I'm lucky to receive 3 or 4 letters a year at this point. "We can just talk on facebook" they say. I think they've missed the point completely. So, when I found this group last month, my joy glands overloaded! I'd love to get to know you guys, and a few vouches wouldn't hurt either .

So...I'm a 27 year old Gamestop manager and writer/illustrator in Athens, Ga. I love writing, drawing, reading, music, arts/crafts, alcohol, animation, pandas, scarves, skulls, trees, the color blue, zombie flicks, graphic novels, cats, corgis, argyle, star wars, steampunk, cyberpunk, robots, foreign languages, music flyers, guitars, violins, cellos, satire, moleskine notebooks, insane postcards, scrabble, watching tv shows on dvd so i don't have to wait for the next episode, red hair, things in space that don't belong in space, and most eccentric behavior. Oh, and pen pals. How about you?
