Pen Pal Group Vouch Thread

I've been considering applying to join this group for awhile. I love sending and receiving mail and sadly, over the years, my friends have chosen to rely more on Facebook than the USPS. I still typically send a slew of postcards out when i travel - and i travel a lot (heading to the UK and Istanbul on monday). I also like to find really bad (funny) postcards to send. I do miss writing letters though. I love to draw/doodle and write about various things. If people are interested i will babble about what i am up to. If not a will ramble on about whatever topics seem relevant or just occur to me. I also love sharing music and making mixed "tapes."

My mailbox is generally only filled with credit card promos or random junk mail. Occasionally i get a wedding invite. I miss getting real mail. Even birthday greeting have shifted to almost exclusively to FB and texts, sigh.

I just think this group could be really fun and i'd love to give it a go.

Just applied to join the group. Really hoping that I get approved. In this age of technology, it would be nice to get back to something old fashioned. I remember how fun it was in high school writing notes to my friends and girlfriends and passing them on between classes. The age of texting has really taken the sincerity out of the written word. It pisses me off that LOL is an acceptable form of communication these days.

I was in this group before my account went inactive due to... life. Lol. But, I'm back now and I want back in! I miss this group so much. I tried to keep up with my pen pals but after a while it just wasn't possible. I'm interested to see if anyone I used to write back and forth with is still in the group so we can reconnect. I'm wondering if you guys did the secret santa thing again this year, and if so, i'm sad that I missed it!

I don't know what everyone else thinks but I find that.most people here aren't that social. It would be great to have a friend or two here!

Probably have the lamest reason to join, I am enjoying a dead art. Have been writing in a journal for my own reason and writing to my brother while he is in basic and you know it feel pretty damn good. Especially when you receive a hand written letter. Everyone is hung up on this Facebook nonsense and it was supposed to keep us together and got tired of signing on and watch them sign within seconds afterwards(Screw it, not talking to you)...no one really wants to connect. Writing it down and mailing it pretty much bitch slap them, Hey I took the time to write these words cause you are just so "busy" to IM/ text me...doubt it may any sense...It is a 'dying' art form and is still much appreciated in the social world.
Well doubt I will be allow in cause I usually get a LIVE one on site occasionally.

I love writing (actual pen and paper writing), and like so many stated before me it is something a lot of people don't do anymore. Letters are a lost art nowadays...
I'm excited at the possibility of sending and receiving letters from all over!

Hello everyone. I just applied to the group. Hoping to find some people around the world that enjoy putting pen to paper as much as i do. Im stuck to the couch for the next few months because of a rock climbing accident, so i'm hoping this might help keep my mind off things. Fingers totally crossed.

It'll be a couple months before I can apply, but popping and saying hi now. Haven't had a pen pale since it was a project back in elementary school but I always thought it was a good concept. That and letters are more fun than digital stuff like texts and emails.


Plus like the others before said: nice to get something in the mail that isn't bills.

I applied for this group. I love wordsmithing and giving and receiving. I am studying to be a LMT and so confidentially is not an issuse for me. I agree about the facebook post previously mentioned and believe it would be wonderful to receive a heart-felt or well- thought-out-letter that smelled like pipe smoke or perfume!
