Just curious, I've seen this spelling of 'the' (teh) used a lot on the boards and wondered where it started?

I could be wrong, but I think it's L33t speak, which is commonly used in online computer games(my husband is into them). I think a lot of people just spelled "the" wrong and it became a joke. I don't really know what I'm talking about, so don't take my word for it. I'm sure some wise person here will fill you in. smile

first, i too find that interesting, i read that just as fast as i normally read, weird.
second, if the only impotant thing is that the first and last letters are in the right place, then you're in trouble with teh, as they aren't wink

This really didn't work for me. I had to stop dead several times to reconstruct the word you were intending. I wonder if that has anything to do with the odd way I was taught to read.
