Did your parents read youWhere the Wild Things Are before bed? It may have seemed like an epic, but they probably finished Maurice Sendak’'s story in minutes and had you to asleep before prime time. Even with the illustrations performed in real time, the book alone would not fill 90 minutes of screen time. Spike Jonze elaborated on the story when he co-wrote the script and directed the movie version ofWhere the Wild Things Are. It won’t be everybody'’s idea of their childhood fantasy, but...

I can't believe I missed out on a child hood story when I was younger!? You mean there's more than just Dr. Suess, the Never Ending Story and the Princess Diaries??? I hope this is still in the theaters here in LA frown

It just came out last Friday, it better still be out.

Saw it opening day, and I was not disappointed. My future offspring will one day be forced to watch this movie. Despite how intense and dark it got I still felt that the sadness was appropriate and not wrong to feel. The cinematography was also really great.

...saw it last night with my three kddos, all of whom i've read the book to at least a gazillion times.

my only disappointment was that the wild rumpus didn't go how I had acted it out ...but it was close enough. :-)

all in all ...awesome film ...and thanks for the great interview with spike here ...further reason to adore him as a director and a human being.
