Overthrow the government and have a dictatorship. Have Jeremy Clarkson lead that dictatorship.

So many things.

Higher restrictions on both immigration and emigration,
forced sterilization for stupid people,
increase government investment in technological industry,
mandatory 3 year military enlistment,
a 3 year waiting period for those that fail more than 2 papers in their first semester at universities.
Sink foreign vessels caught fishing in national waters,
Increased oversight of government spending.
Lower the number of members of parliment.
Have the queen declare a duke as head of state

I wish I'd thought of that.

Especially with our last Prime Minister. I think having a lesbian governor-general would have given him heartburn.

You would give them a bath or shower and delousing?

Ohhhh. I misread the title. I thought it said "what DO you do to make your country better?"

I am doing my part by not accepting government aid at any point. I work for everything I own including supporting myself with a *gasp* job. There was a time when I technically qualified for foodstamps and handouts after Katrina hit my house but I didn't need it. I don't mind public aid programs but I think there needs to be some serious restructuring and regulation. I'll stop there before I get Ranty about other things.

being in the army i would use it to strengthen the nation and making it safer by rooting out homeland gangs and make them extinct, take the billions we are spending overseas and use it on improving our impoverished cities and education system strengthening the nation from young up, cleaning up the enviroment putting us back in control of are own future.

i'd make it mandatory that people attend classes on how not to be selfish/to know the difference between doing something for someone for the other person's benefit, not just because it makes them feel good about themselves

I'd make there be a test you had to pass in order to have kids. Common sense stuff that people SHOULD know, but I see too often that they don't. You could take the test maybe like 3 times until mandatory sterilization was put ito effect.

It would help with population control AND reduce the amount of stupid people running around.

Since I now understand the question...here is what I would change to make my country better:

- CLOSE OFFSHORE TAX LOOPHOLES!!!!

- legalize marijauna

- While I would not decriminalize hard drugs...I would shift policy towards treatment over incarceration

- revamp the farm subsidy system so actually helps struggling farmers

- move towards a European-style rail system...increasing services & decreasing individal reliance on automobiles.

- expand home buying programs for people in public service jobs for economically-depressed cities.

- give tax credits to businesses who set up in economically depressed cities...provided they agree to hire a certain % of city residents

- require developers to improve a certain % of economically depressed city property before they can build on previously undeveloped land

- Prohibit public employees from collecting multiple pensions

- Prohibit certain part-time public employees (like mayors) from collecting health benefits

- seriously curb the types of multiple public jobs a person can hold. How you you be effective as a mayor of a city AND a state legislator?

- Eliminate pension payments to public employees convicted of felonies related to their job

I would probably vote for you.

As for the question, I'm trying to figure out how to promote midwives as birth attendants for normal births, rather than have obstetricians attend them. Why send in a surgeon for a natural process?

- Ban religious groups lobbying for/against laws based on "Religious Values".
- Ban riders and amendments to bills in Congress/Senate that have no relevance to said bill.
- Close income tax loopholes and implement a flat tax.
- Implement a universal healthcare system, so everyone can get the basic healthcare they need.
- drop drinking age to 18. If you are considered an adult in the eyes of the criminal justice system, and old enough to go to war, you should be able to decide if you want to consume alcohol.
- legalize marijuana and treat it like alcohol - heavily "sin tax" it and make it legal for everyone over 18.

The legal age in Australia to go to war is 21, so the age should be raise and they should also have a family as well?
