This month, like corn flakes, discover the dance music giants, Underworld, again for the first time. Because with the release of the anthology Underworld 1992-2002 you won’t just be getting their popular tunes. The 23 year old band made of up Karl Hyde and Rick Smith has included a remixed version of their most popular hit “Born Slippy”, which made it big as the theme song for the movie Trainspotting, but they are also including such modern classics as Bigmouth, Rez and Spikee. Also on the double...

Wow, I had no idea Underworld had that much experience. I love their stuff, it's so much more intriguing than anything a big label puts out. I've got Born Slippy on vinyl, even. Keep doing your own thing! You made my day! biggrin

Yay! They were on the WipeOut XL soundtrack for the Playstation. I had the hardest time finding their stuff without going on the internet. I just recently bought the 1993-2003 album and love it. Can't wait to get more of their stuff.

Dubnobasswithmyheadman is probably on my top 10 albums of all time list, Dirty Epic alone would put it up there.

very cool - nice to learn a little bit more about these guys, in a fresh way...

that three-record string they put together was huge for me - and one of the best live experiences i've had.

Underworld is, by far, one of the best acts in music. Nobody comes close to them. Seems like Karl is a pretty "down to earth" guy. Good Interview, Thanxs...

"Pearl's Girl" (fron the Underworld record "Second Toughest In The Infants") is the greatest song ever written in the history of electronic music.

This point is not arguable in the least.

MMMM, nice interview. Avoided the whole sobriety issue, though. Too serious to fit in a short SG article I guess. I can't wait to get the anthology. The tracks are remastered and sound fantastic. 'Rez' has always been my favorite. Best techno to ever come out of the UK. smile

Underworld is, hands down, my favorite band ever. Dubnobasswithmyheadman changed my life the first time I heard it. No matter how I'm feeling, I can always listen to Underworld and somehow it'll be the perfect thing to match my mood. I've seen them play 3 times and I can't wait till their next tour! Also I love love love the way Karl dances on stage!!! so cute smile
