I value people's opinions on this site. The whole membership charge adds a comfortable sense of finity!! I have a situation:

I joined this site not strictly for pornographic reasons as I'm sure some have. I have also NOT joined it for the purposes of ....*Ahem*.... "hooking up*... I'm sure the ladies get harassed enough....

I actually see a beauty in all the girls on this site. It's comforting... for my past 16 or so years of brainwashing are being undone. A REAL beauty... not a word meant to replace 'HOT'. Given a.... void, of sorts, where there was once MUCH beauty.... I figure I use this site as part of an attempt to fill that void. Now I hear talk of that 'burlesque show'.... my boy told me of it..... YAH! Sounds like fun, eh??

However, I wonder if it is crossing a line. I have seen the videos of the last tour. And it depresses me. I see perverts and drunken jocks the type of what you'd see on 'Girls Gone Wild' tapes..... although I am probably being presumptuous. It seems as though the women become nothing more than objects. No beauty involved. And that saddens me. I apologize if any of you ladies are offended. I find objectifying of that sort disgusting. I think that if I went to have fun with my boy and see that same beauty firsthand, I would just end up feeling really bad.... like the ladies are being taken advantage of.

I'm not trying to milk people for comforting sympathy..... i need feedback. I respect your opinions. Thank you for reading.

if drunken guys oggling girls bothers you, maybe it wouldn't be the best of events to attend, though it will probably be easy enough to ignore if you do go, since a lot of the members seem like they're not quite the type to be doing that.

as for feeling bad for the girls, realize that they're performers. they probably took into account that drunken guys oggling them is a strong possiblity and have prepared themselves for it, and probably don't notice it, or at least know how to ignore it. they're not being taken advantage of any more than when they put naked pictures of themselves on the internet, not to say that they were to begin with.

By definition burlesque is stripping. If you find strip tease distasteful you certainly won't want to attend any of the stops of the SG Burlesque tour. I watched the anniversary party video and I heard plenty of applause and cheering, just like going to see any band that inspires the crowd to have a good time. I didn't get a chance to see much of the individuals in the crowd, but I'm sure they were all (or very nearly all) members of the site. If you find the members of the site in poor taste perhaps you would do well to avoid SG altogether.
