AWESOME: George Carlin HBO specials. I didn't know he'd done a total of like, 14. Now I'm compelled to find 'em all on DVD; so far I'm up to 3. "Complaints & Grievances" is among my favorites. Also, the live Rifftrax thing that happened in theaters a few nights ago. Those of you who know what I'm talking about surely understand.
DISAPPOINTING: Man, "Mr. Show" is just not funny. I watched several episodes and nary a laugh was evoked. Hard to understand how Chris Onstad of Achewood fame cited this as an influence, unless he was like joking or some shit. Also: Joel Hodgson's Cinematic Titanic. Am I the only MSTie on earth who is dully unamused by this series?

I forget where I bought it, but I got my dad a boxed set of all of his HBO specials, and it was dirt cheap. It was probably either Amazon, or FYE.
DISAPPOINTING: The title of this thread has a typo I did not notice.

I really, really disagree. Mr.Show was funny when I first watched it, and it is funny now, going back watching the DVDs. I'm also not n something. Just find Bob and David really funny.

Well I mean I don't hate it. It's not offensively unfunny like, say, Mad TV. But the whole first episode just kind of felt like it was plodding along. The whole stream-of-consciousness thing I can dig, like with the Mighty Boosh, but Mr. Show just kinda felt like they were making it up as they went along. One minute a guy is eating glass, then someone conspires to make a priest a guy's slave, then a guy is reluctant to make change for a dollar. I dunno. Maybe it was just an awkwardly paced pilot, or maybe I just like my humor weirder or more in line with the absurdist stuff than this. Willing to give it another chance, though..

That makes sense. The first handful of times I watched it, it seemed a bit disjointed.
