Adam Curtis is a BBC journalist. He normally does TV documentaries but this summer he did something quite different:

"It Felt Like a Kiss" was one of the events organised for the Manchester Festival which Curtis did in conjuction with the theatre company Punchdrunk and Damon ALbarn (him from Blur). It's just finished now (and I didn't manage to go, tickets sold out blackeyed ) but there's a light at the end of the tunnel: Curtis will put on an extended version of the movie that wasshown during the Manchester event and he hints that there will be a repeat performance in London and Moscow (of all places confused ). Keep an eye on the website for the movie (which Curtis will put on later in the week) and more information on the London and Moscow performances.

Oh, and here's The Crystals song after which the show was named:

Shiny.

I'm particularly interested in what people here think of the project, since this is a predominantly American forum and the Curtis show (and the movie that goes along with it) deal with American power.

I thought this was about the Crystals' song. One of the most terribly masochistic and amazing tracks ever. Phil Spector / Jack Nitzsche knew how to squeeze out that sound.

I just thought I would put it in anyway since both the title and the song are so disturbingly great. biggrin

And I forgot to add that it was relevant to the movie. Speaking of which, Adam Curtis has just posted it on his website:

There's a tidbit in the movie about the origins of the Caroline King/Gerry Goffin song for those who are interested.
