There's nothing half-hearted about the new album from Marilyn Manson, The High End of Low, which explores love, hate, revenge, loss and despair. Off stage, many find Manson's passion disconcerting, but the singer/songwriter considers anything that veers towards apathy to be inherently "worthless." It's therefore not surprising to hear that during the recording process Manson pushed himself and his band to extremes, the resulting album returning him to the kind of form he's not seen in a decade.

does anyone still care about him? The last thing he did that was good is Anti-christ... and Reznor and his crew wrote half of that. Look at the credits.

This is a man with honestly insightful, answers to the most poignant and candid questions. His unrehearsed replies are spontaneous and genuine; and quick to sort the persona from the person. This was an interview that allowed that to be clearly evident, particularly due to NP's having obviously done her homework. I know, that's the job... but few are prepared to take that opportunity and seize the moment for all it's worth. Having been fortunate to have chatted face to face with the Man, I see him as a serious contributor to defining art in the 21st century.
Now I have a few new clues to the motivation of the work, and will enjoy listening through again next time through that much clearer a lens. Thanks, NP.

I got the new album on Pre order from Itunes literally no more then 20 min after hearing "leave a scar".

I like song that I think make sense. To me "leave a scar" made sense. Also I will disagree that

Eat me, Drink me is not a totally sad album. I love the song Evidence and I don't see that as a sad song.

I have been on and off listenting to the new album and so far 'leave a scar" is still the best song.

I don't know if anyone else agrees but I think he is a lot like Alice cooper and Iam obviously a fan

of Alice cooper as well. I still think Rose Mcgowan is hot....How he could ever of made it out of the

bedroom is beyond me. I liked the interview I could understand a lot of what he is saying. It's always

interesting to hear intelligent and insightful things about life.

I usually don't pay attention to the solipsistic blather of entertainers, even if I like their work, but this interview was fascinating and oddly touching. Great job!

The new album is great! I enjoyed it much more than the last album.
I like the way this album seems to have a bit of inspiration from all the previous stages from Manson.
I even heard some sounds from the old spooky kids days in there!
I didn't like how I had to wait to get a copy of the song "blank and white" in uncensored form though.

This was an odd interview with Manson. I don't think I have ever heard him talk about himself (Brian) in an interview before! This almost seemed more personal than his biography.

I love what MM says about caring what people think and how those who say they don't care are just being apathetic, and that's worthless because I think there is a lot to this idea.

Interacting with people is one thing- taking cues and acknowledging weaknesses and strengths, that's part of everyday--but walking around without an appreciation for at least the thoughts of others, relevant or not, really is apathetic and that really does make a person eventually just worthless It may be easier to be apathetic, but that's is just uninteresting.

And I love the new album !
