I don't think there has been a thread about this beautiful beautiful piece of work yet. The Complete Far Side
18 pounds.
1,250 pages.
Every Far Side ever (many of which have never been printed in book form before)
*drool*
And then there is the Complete Peanuts being released over the next 12 years. If they do Calvin and Hobbes as something like this, I can die a happy man.
my girlfriend got it for me for christmas. it was completely unexpected (i guess she picked up that i was a fan somehow, though i never mentioned it), and very awesome. it's huge, and it's really just amazing to touch and look at. it's incredibly well put together.

Wow, that's cool. I like Far Side, except sometimes I don't get it.
I was just at the Gary Larson gallery at the California Academy of Sciences today... it's awesome, they show various strips of his and elaborate on them with scientific facts! How delightfully legitimate!
GOD I would love that book. If only it weren't... requiring... some sort of exchange for goods and services...
now I know what to do with the umpteen Borders and Barnes$Ignoble gift cards I got for Christmas. 5th Gunslinger book. Complete Far Side. and one cup of cappucino. actually I'll have to nix the coffee or I won't be able to afford the books.
God, I love the Far Side. It's probably the only strip that never failed to capture my interest. No other one-panel has ever compared to it. The only thing, I think, that really competes with Far Side without trying to be Far Side is Toothpaste for Dinner.
I picked that up quite a while ago for a ridiculously low price (I think it was something like fifteen dollars), and it makes me happy just to have it sitting on the shelf. *chuckle* Now I just need the complete Calvin and Hobbes.
