Is anyone else hopelessly addicted to these? I'm curious, because I am. What's your favorite Author/Book?

In advance: Stfu. I'm curious.

When I worked at Borders I was always suprised at how many professional-looking busniesswomen came to the register with two or three romance novels.

You were suprised?

That's like the main target audience.
GET A HAIRCUT.

By the way. I went to a Borders outlet this weekend. Got some good books.

Sorry, I'm stupid.

A guide to Chicago, Frommers.

One night of passion, The Charm School, and a few more random books that looked enjoyable. I prefer mysteries and the like.

I had a friend who was obsessed with these, she made me read them to her while she was driving her car. That was two years ago, when I was hopelessly innocent... I was nervous and studdering everyother word, she was laughing and saying. "I can't wait till a sex scene." Luckily, after that I never read one, nor did I have to read a sex scene outloud.

For some strange reason I crave and read only romance novels at Christmas time. Oh, and only when it's snowed.

Weird huh?

One year we had a bunch of snow and I walked up to the corner grocery store and bought every romance novel they had. I had a couple weeks off work, so I had the time...

I bought one last summer called Sweet Texas Surrender and never ended up finishing it. It was, um, lame. I just picked the one with the best (worst) picture on the cover.

Romance novels remind me of the books which were manufactured via machine by the Ministry of Truth in 1984... random choice of six or seven plots, insert random character names and places, instant novel.
