Ask one of your friends to give you a ride. I haven't lived in LA for 6 years and I know they have the Metro which goes to Hollywood and close to LAX now but you'll have to get from Orange County to the LAX area and that'll take you about....4 hours....at least that's how long it took me to get from Gardena to Fullerton on the bus...so, you might as well start asking someone to pick you up now!

(why'd you fly into Santa Ana when you're going to Hollywood? Burbank or LAX would have been WAY better)

It's kind of a last resort, but you can rent a U-Haul pickup truck at the age of 18. Not sure how cost effective it'd be though.

If memory serves, there is a place called "rent a wreck" somewhere in LA. I once rented a POS car out there and it was sooper cheap. Me thinks it would not be wise
to take public transpo. from OC to LA, but once you get to LA, the Metro line can get you around fine.

P.S.~ You can also take the super shuttle from the airport to wherever, it might cost about 30 bux or so.

You would have to take a series of buses.

I would begin with contacting octa.net or mta.net for trip info.

It will take a good 3 hours.

Somehow you will need to get an Orange County Transit Authority bus from Santa Ana Airport to the Disneyland area. ASK DRIVER FOR TERMINAL!

There is a terminal near Disneyland where you will transfer to the MTA (Yellow Metro Bus) #460 to Downtown LA, get off at 7th & Flower, walk across the street down the into the Metro Red Line Subway.

Board a train marked NO HOLLYWOOD this means yes it goes to Hollywood (No joke). There are several stops along Hollywood Blvd and you can go from there to your final point.

Hope this helps.

I consider myself the maven madman of the LA bus system.

Its actually quite useful, yet piss poorly made known to the public and tourists alike.

mta.net for more on the "New Creulty"

If you ask me, it's the shitiest Public Transporation for a city the size of Los Angeles. I've been to many cities accross the U.S. and ours definately takes the cake for being the worst one....I was being sarcastic when I said that I didn't know one existed. It might as well not.

Over the last 50 years the public transit went from amazing, to good, got revaped in the 1970's with teh gas crisis and from the late 80's onward has gone in a downward spiral.

It was considered one of the truly great systems as recently as 1988 but has gone to hell since.

Santa Monica has pretty good public transportation.

The LA bus system isn't that bad.. I've used it to get to SGHQ a few times (when they golden limos were outta service...)
