HOPEFUL

Birmingham, AL

MAY 11, 2009 12:57 PM

A very good friend of mine works for an animal clinic in Birmingham, AL and has been looking desperately for homes for two very sweet FIV positive kitties! They do not have to go together, and they are both in good health, they just must be strictly indoor cats, and cannot be around other cats that do not have FIV. The only other special treatment they need is an oral medication (Interferon) given once every other day. Only one of the cats is currently on the medication (they do not feel the other one needs it at this time), and that cat will come with a free supply of the medicine, which should last a VERY long time. If the other cat needs it, they will also give that cat a supply too. Many, many FIV-positive cats have gone on to live long, healthy, happy lives, and although they ARE considered "special needs", for the most part they are just normal sweet kitties. They have been living at the clinic for 7 months, and would love to find permanent homes. Sylvester is a large fluffy black-and-white 5yr old lap cat who just wants to snuggle all day, and Nightmare is a sleek little black cat who is 8mos old. They are absolutely free of charge, and if you live in the Birmingham area and need any assistance later down the line, the clinic will try to help you in any way possible. I know this is a shot in the dark, but the kitties have just been there for quite a long time. If you think you might be interested in one (or both!) of these beautiful kitties, please send me a message via SG or to kittensinbaskets@yahoo.com. You do not need to live in Birmingham, but you would need to be able to come get them. If you are in a neighboring state (Tennessee, Georgia, Mississippi) she will gladly try to arrange to meet you half-way. Sorry I dont have any pictures to put up right now, but can get some on request. Thanks again!
