they were scary, mine got about 2 inches long so i flushed them down the toilet but my husband told me that was stupid as theyre from a water environment and would be able to swim back up,so i spent the next 6 months perched on the edge everytime I went. I have to check to this day

The guy who first marketed them just died a couple of weeks ago. He also invented X-Ray Spex and a bunch of other stuff you used to find in comic books.

He was also a white supremacist and a nazi (who strangely enough was born Jewish). Every time you bought something from him the money went to organizations he supported. Yes - sea monkeys helped fund the aryan nations.

Yeah, check places like the Discovery Channel store. All the "educational" stores tend to try and have them.

Although I didn't learn much from mine growing up other than they die and start to smell bad if you don't change the water. tongue

I HAVE A SEA MONKEY (note sea monkey)

I had two attempts at 'growing' sea monkeys.
The label lies, they don't hatch instantly - you have to wait about 2 weeks..

well the first ones went down the loo after two days
then I tried again and forgot all about them

About 6 grew and now there's only one left (I reckon he ate the others)
I don't feed him - he's lasted the past 6 months living on nothing
Maybe he's eating his castle?

I don't have a name for him - any ideas?

Look at me, I'm living free.
Free and clean amongst the sea people.
We look for pirates and search for gold.
Life is an adventure with the sea people.

They don't ever complain.
They don't call me fat.
They don't make me do homework or nothin' like that!

This is the way life was meant to be
Laughin' and singin'

sea people and me. Sea people and me...me...

omg i loved sea monkeys. Mine grew totaly huge till i accidentaly spilled their water kingdom onto my floor. I tried to rescue a few of them by filling up the tank with tap water and picking them out of the carpet, but they didn't last. I've been wanting to start a new batch for a few years, but the pain goes on. My precious precious sea monkeys. How could i ever replace you frown
