My parents and I watch it for as long as my dad can stand it on Christmas day. I'm so excited!!!!

My brother-in-law made the mistake of uttering that phrase when his mom made meatloaf. He had just seen the movie for the first time; his mom had not seen it. Needless to say, he was on the receiving end of her crazy German rage. Then my husband got smacked for laughing. My mother-in-law is so tough. I like her.

Okay...a little off the subject, but I think it relates:
Why are child actors in today's movies so damn irritating? I'm sitting here watching A Christmas Story, laughing happily, and I can't help but realize that nothing that has come out in the last 10 years featuring a kid as the lead has really made me laugh. It's all overacting and acting overly cute. Whoever is coaching these kids should be shot. Three times.
