I find this amusing, more so for the fact that in the mid-90s when I was still a wee lad, my Dad took myself and my youngest sister out to California (from Nevada) for joint prospecting/camping/fishing trips just out of Quincy. A couple of times we actually made money on it (albeit it not much), and others we didn't. I can imagine that with gold prices what they are this could prove to be fairly lucrative if you find the right spots and Lady Luck is on your side.
