IN 1991, the buddy picture Rubin and Ed was released. Starring Crispin Glover and WKRP's Howard Hesseman, this is the timeless story of two men burying a dead cat in the desert.

As of yet, this masterpeice has not been officially released on DVD. Clearly, this is an outrage. Consider this thread a chance to vent and share your sense of disgust.

Release Rubin and Ed NOW!!

So, I watched. And I laughed (and laughed). And I thought, well this is a dream sequence maybe the rest of the movie wouldn't be as good.

Lies.

I need to see this movie now.... I feel like I need to write to congress about this lack of DVD availability. Really, not even cult DVD release status? This pains me.

I kinda know Trent Harris and he's all but given up on trying to get it released to DVD. He just wants to work on other stuff now. Tower Theater in SLC carries all of his stuff that's on DVD, though, and my friend was able to get a bootleg of Rubin and Ed from them.

...what did I just watch? I'm confused and frightened. In my dream, there was a cat that could water ski.

Love this movie. A lot. I believe in the power of positive real estate.
