If you're a fan of "Is-it-reality-or-not" movies like the Thirteenth Floor, The Matrix and Existenz, you might like this.

It's a very odd movie by the Japanese director who made Ghost In The Shell. It's set in a world where people play an illegal virtual reality war game, and one player decides to see how far she can make it and how deeply she can delve into the game.

It's set in Eastern Europe, and everything has a sepia-like color tone to it. The movie's plot develops at a glacial pace, interspersed with brief but very cool battle scenes.

Anyway, I've been waiting to see this movie for over three years since I saw the trailer on the internet. It's not exactly entertaining, and the ending was a terrible cop-out, but if you like this sort of subject matter maybe you'd like it.

Also, there were some references to the King Arthur myths which I haven't really read about or know much about. You might find this movie interesting if you know anything about that, too.

I bought this movie thinking the "arcade" part was a majority of the move. I was sadly mistaken. After all that really cool shit, I was bored as hell. The second disc (bonus) is all in Japanese with no subtitles. I was bummed about that too.

Me too. Because if you saw the trailer, that's all they showed. They showed a lot of SCHWEET East-bloc military stuff in action that had me doing backflips. Turns out those amazing sequences comprised maybe 10 minutes (at most) of the whole movie.
