The only thing I'm worried about is that 'Where the Wild Things are' will become a classic in a new way. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I hope kids still read and love the book. And God do I hope there is not a movie-tie-in cover (I work at a bookstore).
Pluses though: Dave Eggers did the screenplay.
Spike Jonze.
Arcade Fire.
Sorry but this was one of my favorite books as a child. This needs to go in the trash like "the cat in the hat." It's sacrelicious and thereby a violation of my imagination. I dont need a 90 minute version to tell me that I should appreciate my imagination. The book was just fine. Enjoy folks, I wont.

I'm in. I just hope the studio didn't make Jonez sugar coat it too much.
Well, I hear that in original screenings kids started crying and they wanted to make him change it/make it less dark but word on the street is he pretty much refused.
I like the costume aspect rather than yet another shitty CGI ridden heap of filth. Not too into the re-recording of the Arcade Fire track or the American voices (I was read this as a child by my mother who is English). Would be interested in seeing it.

I am glad they went with CGI faces for the wild things though so we can get some real expression in there.
