Starring: Brad Pitt, Eli Roth, BJ Novak, Mike Myers and Michael Fassbender.
For myself (and perhaps myself only), a project that combines Quentin Tarentino, Brad Pitt, and Mike Myers has got too many strikes against it, no matter the title.

I don't know looks kinda bad...oh right Tarantino specifically makes bad movies that are considered high art. My wrong. I wish he would do something original and not just take from other films, oh right ...again I forgot that s his art.
I don't think anyone, including Tarantino, would ever call his work "high art."
Maybe you should delete all of your crappy photoshop filtered SG "art" pieces before you criticize someone else for rehashing other's creative work.
thanks for making this about me ...
1) there is a slight tinge of sarcasm in what I was saying, but of course this cannot be known in written form , but yes Tarantino is known for calling himself an " artist " as opposed to a director , if you heard him say it the smugness would be apparent. While I do like his older films I am was very very disappointed in "Kill Bill " , I liked " Death Proof " , at least the first portion , I felt the second half sucked big time. I was disappointed that he was not doing something a little more original as opposed to doing a take on the other film .
2) lighten up Mr. Moderator , I don't see the harm in playing with some of the girl pics in photoshop as long I do not pass them off as my own work. The girls seemed to like the job I did , it being an homage to them.
3) why do you give a shit what I say...? I hope this movie is bad , in a good way of course.

I also love the over-dependence on the very recent (well, 80-100 years or so) attitude towards artistic borrowing. In Wordsworth's time there wasn't really even such a thing as plagiarising, and it was in fact expected that anything artistic would borrow from or at least respond to past artistic works.
Tarantino, for all his faults, is certainly realistic about his work being derivative. He does it on purpose, and calling him out on it is like telling a circus clown that his outfit looks stupid.
But it's what I'd expect from someone that thinks Cobra Commander turning into an actual snake was "awesome."
I liked that he got turned into a snake, but I did not like that he was never turned back into a human. There were twisted poetics seeing him wrapped around Roadblock , hissing " once I was a man" Some good things about that movie, especially the opening Statue of Liberty scene.
I have nothing against borrowing , but I feel like his last few movies were not that great , and that he extravagantly steals to the point of being ridiculous. If you get a chance compare Truffaut's " Bride Wore Black " with " Kill Bill." Bill just seemed like a huge mess to me , and it lacked his normal great dialogue between characters. At best he is , or was a great dialogue writer , something which was lacking in his past few films , or was there only in small degrees during "Death Proof."

Can you cite any example where he has referred to himself specifically as an "artist" as opposed to a "director?" I've done work for him and met him. Dudes got an ego for sure but he's pretty self-aware.

Isn't that EXACTLY what Tarantino is doing? He's paying homage to pop culture and a lot of people seem to like the job he does.
3) why do you give a shit what I say...?
Trust me when I say that I don't care one iota about your opinions on things. I may be a moderator but I also enjoy contributing and participating in the discussions here as well.

Since you've almost always espoused the densest view on any cultural issue for years now, I'm now quite sure this will be the best movie of 2009.

Ok so your angry about what I said because you have a working relationship with him , this makes a little more sense. I have met him a few times as well at a coffee shop where he use to do some writing , and yes I think he is a pretty cool guy. I know what he is doing in his work , and I am a fan of his as well , but I think his current work is not as up to par as his earlier work. I felt that when he first came around that he was injecting some lightning bolt of energy into stagnant Hollywood. I heard that comment from him on some special feature or something ( I honestly cannot remember what it was on ) and it kind of made me feel like he was turning kind of , well into a douche to be honest. Maybe success and everyone telling you how great you are does that to you , in fact I am sure it does , just as I am sure that there is an art form to what he was doing. I was being extremely sarcastic in what I wrote , sarcasm does not translate well in written form.I'm sure you do not care about my opinion , just as I do not care about others.
