Brian Vaughan is one of the hottest writers in comics right now. He has multiple books coming out from DC Comics, Marvel and edgier titles under imprints such as Wildstorm and Vertigo. The book that is closest to his heart is Y: The Last Man which he co-created with artist Pia Guerra. It's the story of the last man on earth, Yorick, and his monkey Ampersand.

Every living thing with the Y chromosome is suddenly killed except these two creatures. Yorick is now being protected by a female government...

Wow, I couldn't be happier to see this interview! Interesting for certain! I'd like to see about 10x more comic interviews on the site, personally ^_^

I met Brian Vaughan in San Diego. He's so down to earth. It was kind of embarrassing, because I was really "star struck" meeting him. Why? He's a normal guy who writes cool comic books. But no... I'm completely geeked out. I like his work. It's exciting to meet someone who's at the top of their game.

"I like to think I have enough hubris to back off when someone is much better at something than I am."

That isn't hubris, it's humility...

by and by, DRE finds out something interesting about everyone, which is truly a great talent
for an interviewer.

dear Missy:
I love the concept! Since you're a bona fide Suicide Girl (you might say the Suicide Girl, the prototype...) I'd like to ask if there's any truth to the rumors? Are secret plans being drawn up even now at SG Headquarters' Secret Base? To eliminate the gender that brought us Stalin and George W. Bush...and to make this a world of lovely, kind & gentle tatooed women & girls. To save species; restore the planet, end war, replant the rainforests, cure cancer & AIDS, finally achieving immortality. So that you become caretakers; gardeners if you will: on planetary scale ... ?

And when this Eternal Summer of Love is reality, Suicide Girls will change their names, spending the lush days of eternity in loving embrace
